Similarities Between Imperialism And Post Colonialism

Imperialism, colonialism, and post colonialism are all a very important part of history. Each of these are present in the writings for the topic of the essay. The three writings that will be discussed are Clarice Lispectors The Smallest Woman In The World, Jamaica Kincaids On Seeing England For The First Time, and Civil Peace by Chinua Achebe. Each of these writings give great examples of imperialism, colonialism, and post colonialism through different perspectives and from different parts of the world. The effects are shown throughout the writings and show the before and after effects of each term. This control may be political, economic, or both (Essay Prompt). In this case Fran ce is controlling numerous parts of Africa and is dominating them with political and economic control. Moving on to the French explorer. This example can also be seen with colonialism and post colonialism. The reasons are similar to imperialism. Colonialism can be seen in this situation because it is the outcome of imperialism. The French are dominating Africa and Africa is dependent on the french for many things. This is basically just the effects of the colonization of parts of Africa. The next part is post colonialism. This can be seen within the writing because the french explorer goes to Africa to explore after all the colonization effects are mostly over. He just waltzes into the country and discovers a new woman and shares her to the world because he can.
